In 1842, Inventor Jerome Increase Case founded Case within Racine. He started making threshing machines. By the year 1912, Case had become established within the construction machine business. The rapidly started to produce road building equipment like graders and steam rollers. Case grew their construction machine business through various acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation in 1957. Case had expanded their business by the middle part of the 1990s to become the leading manufacturer of light-sized to medium-sized construction machinery.
Case merged with the corporation New Holland in the year 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This corporation became responsible for marketing some of the world's leading brands of agricultural and construction equipment.
