A lift truck is an essential piece of equipment in the material handling industry. Also called a powered industrial truck, a forklift is used to lift and move materials from one place to another. These trucks revolutionized the warehousing and the manufacturing industries. Today they are considered to be essential for material handling and are utilized for a huge array of applications.

The lift truck requires an operator who utilizes the control levers to move loads and materials around the worksite, normally a warehouse or factory. Companies which own their own forklifts should maintain the machinery to ensure they have a long lifespan. Lift truck parts, similar to any machine parts, are subject to wear and tear and will eventually become worn. In order to ensure the lift truck works safely and efficiently, you should replace worn or damaged components occasionally. Every forklift truck part is made for a specific purpose. Below is a list of some forklift attachments and their purposes:

Forklift Fork Positioner: The hydraulic attachment known as forklift fork positioner helps to position the tines. Tines could move both separately or simultaneously. Without the forklift fork positioner, the operator of the forklift needs to adjust forklift forks by hand for various sizes of cargo.

Side Shifter: The hydraulic side shift attachment allows the operator to laterally shift both the forklift forks and the backrest. This specific attachment makes it really easier to place the load without having to change the position of the truck.

Pole Attachments: Pole attachments are long metal poles utilized particularly to lift carpet rolls. The poles work better for this purpose compared to forklift forks.

Telescopic Forklift Forks: Telescoping tines are hydraulic attachments which enable the operator to both unload and load from one side. The telescoping forks can handle two pallets of various sizes at the same time. This specific kind of attachment is great for handling pallets in 'double deep racking'.
