Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also called a counterbalance, carries loads as heavy as 30,000 lbs. Despite being big and sturdy, these industrial equipment still carry the possible chance of crash or accident. In order to be safe, be sure to have operators wear the correct seat belt in the forklift and make certain that up to standard safety features are on board. People know that seat belts could save lives in case of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
Three-point seat belts can extend across the upper body and over the lap. These belts provide an added degree of safety by protecting your body. They are offered in both bucket-seat and bench-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are offered in either retractable and non-retractable kinds.
Retractable seat belts are normally used in the majority of modern motor vehicles on the market. Though non-retractable kinds increase safety, retractable types provide much more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
Two-point lap belts are those that extend over the lower part of the body. Most lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, simply press on the belt button and the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the kind which force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These kinds of seat belts have a micro-switch attached that makes an alarm sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band styles.
