In order to be a successful model, a lift truck has to be strong enough to last in all working conditions for numerous hours of use. It has to be able to move loads quickly and effectively too. The machinery has to be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator too.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and reliable. The powertrain requires the power to always provide great durability through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with extremely tough shafts and strong gears. The steer axle, drive, engine and transmission are all isolated so as to decrease both vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
The Mazda LP and GM Gas Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These types of machinery provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which requires minimal adjustment or repair. These types of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which reduce wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine provide a higher compression ratio leading to better torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The regular Electronic Powershift Transmission features gears that are 15 percent stronger and shafts which maximize resistance to rough driving. The durable clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available which automatically adjusts so as to reduce maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission uses computer-controlled power reversal to eliminate shock loading, increase durability and extend the life of the tires. In addition, the auto deceleration feature lessens break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
Designed for extra strength, the drive axle features its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are completely sealed against contamination and practically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Furthermore, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made a lot of ergonomic features and safety features part of their standard packages. These machines will handle tough environments, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
